Inspecting more than one car?
5-Check Car Shopper Pass
Almost nobody buys the first car they look at. Five official PPSR certificates, held until you need them.
- Credits never expire, so use them over weeks or months
- Redeem by registration or VIN, or pass a check to a friend
- Official AFSA certificates, each with its own search number
What each check gives you
Every credit buys the same check as our $5.95 single. Nothing is held back because it came from a pass.
- Five official PPSR search certificates, each with its own search number
- Money owing check: the finance that can repossess a car you have paid for
- Written-off status, with the damage detail
- Stolen check against the national register
- Registration details and vehicle identity
- A plain-English verdict on every one
How it works
- 1
Buy the pass
One payment of $19.95. Five credits land on your account and we email you a redemption link.
- 2
Find a car
Days or weeks later, it makes no difference. Nothing counts down and nothing lapses.
- 3
Spend a credit
Enter the rego or the VIN. The certificate arrives in about a minute, and four credits are still waiting.
Why a pass rather than five separate checks
The check that matters most is usually the last one. By the fourth or fifth car you have been looking for weeks, you are tired of it, and paying again for a car you are probably not buying feels like throwing money away. So it gets skipped, on the one you end up driving home.
A pass removes that decision. The checks are already paid for, so running one costs you nothing you have not already spent, and the money owing on a car is not something you want to find out about afterwards.
Questions
- Do the checks expire?
- No. Credits sit on your pass until you use them. There is no window to beat and nothing lapses. Buy them when they are cheap, spend them when you find a car.
- Can I use one on a car I find next month?
- Yes. That is what the pass is for. Most people look at cars over weeks rather than an afternoon, and a pass is what makes the fifth check cost the same as the first.
- Registration or VIN?
- Either. Type the plate and state, or the VIN off the windscreen. The VIN works for a car with no current registration, which is exactly when you want to check it.
- What if I only use three?
- The other two stay on your pass. They do not expire, and nothing is charged again.
- Is it a real PPSR certificate?
- Yes. It is the official document issued by AFSA, with its own search number, the same one you would get buying a single check. It is the document that protects you if finance is later claimed against the vehicle.
- Can I give a check to someone else?
- Yes. Your pass is a link, and whoever holds it can run a check, without an account or a card. Send it to a friend hunting for a car, or to the family member doing the looking. Treat it like a gift card: anyone with the link can spend a credit, so keep it where you would keep one.
- Do I need an account?
- No. The link in your email is enough, on any device. If you do sign in with the address you bought it on, the pass attaches to your account and you can redeem from there too, which helps if the email gets buried.
