About MyCarCheck
MyCarCheck is an Australian vehicle checking service for people buying a used car. It runs the official PPSR search by registration plate, so you do not need the VIN, and delivers the official certificate with a plain-English verdict.
Who runs it
MyCarCheck is operated by Fairgo Logistics (ABN 94 279 467 365). Fairgo Logistics is the business you deal with when you buy a check, and the one responsible for your information under the privacy policy.
Where the results come from
Every check is searched live against official Australian vehicle registries and the national Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR), run by the Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA). We never answer from a stored copy of an earlier search, yours or anyone else's: every check asks the registries again.
The certificate you receive is the official PPSR certificate, with its own search number and the time of the search.
How the verdict is written
The plain-English verdict comes from fixed rules applied to what the registries returned. A check that could not be completed is marked as not completed, never shown as a pass.
When a check cannot be completed
Registries sometimes do not answer. When one does not, we deliver everything we could check and say which check is missing. We re-run it, usually within a day, at no extra cost. If it still cannot be completed, a person reviews what reached you and tells you what you are owed. If we could not deliver anything usable at all, we refund you in full without being asked.
Where your information lives
Our systems run in Australia, in the Sydney region: databases, storage, backups and logs. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.
What a check is not
A check reports what the registries hold. It is not a mechanical inspection, it cannot tell you how well a car was repaired, and it is not legal or financial advice. Look at the car, drive it, and have a mechanic inspect it.
Common questions
- Is MyCarCheck legit?
- MyCarCheck is operated by Fairgo Logistics, ABN 94 279 467 365. Every check is searched live against official Australian vehicle registries and the national PPSR, and you receive the official PPSR certificate with its own search number.
- Is MyCarCheck a government website?
- No. It is a private business. The government's own PPSR search is at ppsr.gov.au and costs $2.00, but needs the VIN. MyCarCheck runs the same official search starting from the registration plate, for $5.95.
- How do I contact MyCarCheck?
- Through the contact form on the site. We do not publish an address, because a published one is harvested and resold; ask and we will give you a postal address.
